Title

He Knows You

Scripture
Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men . . . for He knew what was in man.
(John 2:24-25)
Devotional
Christ’s understanding of man is based on two immutable facts: He created man and He became a man. He knows His creation because He became His creation. Christ has perfect understanding of us. We are each and everyone wonderfully made. We are uniquely created. Nevertheless, we are all alike in that we suffer the same temptations and experience the same emotions. You are special; however, your problems are not. Christ is the answer. He is the only true solution. He understands you. He made you and experienced what you are experiencing and suffered what you are suffering, and more. He knows us better than we know us. He need not surrender to us; we need to surrender to Him. You may not understand why you are going through the things you are going through; Christ Jesus does. He knows what we need far better than we know. He simply knows what is in the heart of man; and He knows what is in your heart as well.
Thought For The Night
“He has great tranquility and peace of heart who does not regard praise or blame, and he will soon be at peace and content who has a good conscience. You are not the better because you are praised, or the worse because you are blamed, for as you are, you are, and whatever is said of you, you are no better than Almighty God, the Searcher of men's hearts, will testify that you are.” Thomas a Kempis in The Imitation of Christ.

Defining: “His Knowledge”: “Our Lord knew all men, their nature, dispositions, affections, designs, so as we do not know any man, not even ourselves. He knows his crafty enemies, and all their secret projects; his false friends, and their true characters. He knows who are truly his, knows their uprightness, and knows their weaknesses. We know what is done by men; Christ knows what is in them, he tries the heart.” Matthew Henry, Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary on the Bible.
Referencing: “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind,” Jeremiah 17:10.

Applying: Get to know the One who knows you so very well; such knowledge will change your life.
