Title

A Restful Heart of Wisdom

Scripture
Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding, but what is in the heart of fools is made known.
(Proverbs 14:33)
Devotional
Wisdom acquired through the gates of understanding is the wisest of all wisdom. It is more than applied knowledge. It not only speaks wisely, but also is timely. It is not anxious, but rests in the heart of him who holds it. The fool knows not such wisdom. Whatever is in the heart of the fool is on the lips of that fool. The fool spews his mind and emotion without reservation. He or she has no checks and balances, only a libertine mindset. The difference is easily seen and understood: Wisdom rests and foolishness is made known. One is quiet and the other is boisterous.
Which are you? The fool will say, “That’s just the way I am.” The wise will understand and say, “That is the way I am to be.” Therefore, get this understanding and allow wisdom to rest in your heart. Consider the wisdom of Christ. Allow this wisdom to rest in your heart and you will likewise find rest in your Lord.

Thought For The Day
“I have lost all inclination to vice without knowing whether I owe this change to the weakness of an outworn body or the moderation of a mind that has grown wiser than it was before. At my age it is hard to tell whether the passions one no longer feels are extinguished or overcome.” Saint Evremond, (1613/14–1703), French Polemicist and gentleman of letters.
