Title

Worthless Quitters

Scripture
Woe to the worthless shepherd, Who leaves the flock!
(Zechariah 11:17)
Devotional
We seem to be a generation of quitters, quick to start and quicker to quit. We are a generation of seed that has fallen on stony ground. We immediately spring up, but just as quickly wither and die on the vine. We do not have to be this fickle. We can have depth to our lives. All we need to do is cultivate the soul of our character. This we do by resisting impulse and embracing sound reason. We are not to be ruled by emotion, but by conscience. It is good to get excited about an endeavor or opportunity. However, most things that are started impulsively end just as rapidly. Do not procrastinate, but likewise do not be rash in your decision making. Be wise, seek counsel and let your “Yes” be “Yes.” Don’t be a quitter. Be a man or woman of your word. Do not be controlled by the emotion of the moment, but control each moment by your good character.
