There is a generation that curses its father, and does not bless its mother.
(Proverbs 30:11)
Devotional
If you are of that generation, you are selfish, egotistical and repulsive to God and man. You show me a man or woman who dishonors his or her parents and I will show you a person without much of a life. It is hard for me to speak about those who do not honor their parents without a tone of anger. It angers me because it is total rebellion against God’s repeated command to honor our fathers and mothers. It angers me because it causes such harm to both parents and children. It breaks the hearts of mothers and burdens the spirits of fathers. Dishonoring parents, likewise, destroys the lives of the generation that curses its father and does not bless its mother. If you are of that generation, repent before God; make it right with your parents. Ask, no, plead for their forgiveness. There is no excuse. The commandment is clear, “Honor your father and mother.”
