Unchanging Precepts

Scripture
Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgement, because he willingly walked by human precept.
(Hosea 5:11)

Whose moral laws lead you? On what foundation do you stand? The psalmist said, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” In whom or what are you placing your trust? Are you trusting in human situational precepts, laws and morality, or are you trusting in God’s Word? One changes with the seasons while the other is unchanging. One is fickle, the other is fixed. One brings oppression, the other brings freedom. Think about human precepts. They vary from generation to generation. They are regressive in nature. They are in a constant state of entropy. On the other hand, the Word of God is a sure foundation. It is unchanging and sufficient forever. God’s Word is proven. It has stood the test of time and the greatest of scrutiny. We will follow someone’s precepts. Why not follow the Creator’s.
