Title

Leave Them in The Past

Scripture
We have spent enough of our past lifetime… in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.
(1 Peter 4:3)
Devotional
Unfortunately, many of us have worn these past escapades as badges of honor. We laugh at them as if they were youthful pranks or adolescent adventures. We not only should turn from these past lifestyles, but we should also turn from reminiscing about them. These were not the good old days. They were the days of foolishness and sin. Many of our children will repeat the sinful mistakes of our youth because we have not turned and rejected those sins. Never talk about them in a light, airy manner. Never be nostalgic about them. I know from experience that our children are listening. Remember, righteousness is not contagious, sin is. If you have never repented of the sins of your past, stop, take a moment now and confess them to God and leave them in the past. We have spent enough of our past lifetime in sins of our youth.
