Title

Put Your Faith to Work

Scripture
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
(James 2:26)
Devotional
When the spirit is removed, the body dies. Likewise, when works are removed, faith dies. To say that we have faith in God and not do the works of God is the same as attributing life to a corpse. Remember that faith is a combination of believing, trusting and obeying. If any part of the equation is removed, you do not have Biblical faith. Belief and trust require obedience to equate to faith. We cannot be obedient without works. Obedience requires action. To be obedient you have to do something. Not only must something be done, there has to be something produced or accomplished before it can be deemed work. In what do you believe? What is it that you trust? Work your belief and trust your work. Put your faith to work and it will work for you. Saying that you have faith is not enough. You do not speak things into existence; you work them into existence.
