Title

Perfected Forever

Scripture
For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
(Hebrews 10:14)
Devotional
The day we accept Christ as Savior is the beginning of salvation, not the end. We are saved for a purpose, and that purpose is sanctification. That is, God has a plan for our lives. The price was paid in full. We were not redeemed on credit. However, we were not purchased and shelved. We were purchased for a purpose: to be used and to be fruitful. I love the phrase, “Perfected forever.” We were not redeemed to be thrown out or discarded. We were purchased because we were loved. I am permanently saved, however, I am perpetually being sanctified. I am perfected in my salvation, but I am being perfected in sanctification. My salvation is a done deal. My sanctification is being done daily. As the apostle Paul said, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”
