“For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God, “Therefore turn and live!”
(Ezekiel 18:32)
Devotional
Sin always brings death. Therefore, it was necessary that, “The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” We were not created to die, but because of the fall of mankind, sin entered into the world and brought death. God never intended for us to have to die. We were created to live forever. Sin brought death, and Christ brought life. Because death was never a part of God’s original plan for His creation, Christ came to redeem us from sin and death. It is for this reason that we are to turn from our sinful ways and accept Christ as Savior and Lord. If we die the eternal death, we do so rejecting the eternal life offered to us through Christ. How foolish to reject so great a salvation. How foolish to choose death over life. God takes no pleasure in the death of one who dies, and neither should we. Therefore, let us turn and live both now and forevermore.
