Title

God Says, “Come and ask”

Scripture
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
(Hebrews 4:16)
Devotional
Christ has paved the way to the throne of grace, the place of favor and power. To come boldly means to come open-faced, that is, to come unashamedly and freely. We, in ourselves, do not merit the right to come, but because of the mercy of God, we can come. We are to approach the throne to petition the Lord, to let our request be known to Him. We do not have to approach apologetically or doubtfully. We are to approach by faith expecting to find help in our time of need. We are to approach the throne of God as if we were approaching a loving Father who was there and ready to help. The throne of grace is the place where we are to ask God for the things we need and desire. The apostle James says, “You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives.”
