Arrogance Blames

Scripture
“Behold I am against you, O most haughty one!” Says the Lord God of hosts.
(Jeremiah 50:31)
Devotional
Arrogance is repulsive not only to man, but to the Lord as well. Arrogance is not only expressed in words, but even much more so in actions. There is a demeanor to arrogance. It carries itself disdainfully and looks at others with contempt. It simply thinks more highly of itself than it ought to think. Arrogance is quick to blame. Therefore, it is always out of control. Being out of control is the definition of blame. Blame says that others control me. This is the hypocrisy of arrogance. The arrogant think that they are self-sufficient, but they are not. They are totally dependent on what others think of them. Therefore, they blame others and treat them with contempt. If you find yourself always blaming others for the condition of your life, you are saying that you are not in control of your life, and most likely you are walking arrogantly. There is a solution: Stop blaming others and start repenting of your ways. Walk humbly and take the responsibility for your life.
