A large majority of Americans profess to be Christians. America herself was once deemed a Christian nation. And if there is a verse of scripture that defines Christianity in America, Titus 1:16 is that verse. We have become a people of shallow words instead of godly actions. We say we are one thing and live like another. Like the apostle Paul said to the Romans, “Professing to be wise, they have become fools.” I believe that it was Saint Francis who said to his disciples, "Wherever you go, preach the gospel, and when absolutely necessary use words.” Our actions do speak louder than words. We can make all the positive professions we want, but if our deeds do not match our words, our words are hollow. Let us live out our words or keep our words to ourselves. As Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
