Title

Vulnerable Vessels

Scripture
Each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor.
(1 Thessalonians 4:4)
Devotional
Adultery, sexual immorality and all forms of fornication are depraved and dishonoring. There is absolutely no room for these in God’s kingdom. They are not to be practiced among God’s people. I am continually saddened by the amount of unfaithfulness that exists among those who call themselves Christians. Promiscuity appears to be epidemic. It all begins in the unoccupied mind. Mindless entertainment opens the mind to all sorts of lascivious thoughts and desires. Soon the thoughtless find themselves being entertained with pornography. Pornography pollutes and leads to inordinate sexual appetites. These, in turn, make the body vulnerable to deeds and actions that once never entered the heart and mind. Before one realizes it, he or she has fallen. Lives have been ruined and families destroyed. It has happened to greater than you and me. Therefore let us, with patience, possess our vessels in sanctification and honor.
