Title

The Sacrament Of Marriage

Scripture
As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.
(Isaiah 62:5)
Devotional
Do you remember your wedding day? The joy and anticipation were overwhelming. Does that joy remain? Are you still overwhelmed with the fact that you have a life-long spouse? I hope so. For you see, your marriage is a sacrament. That is, it is a visible form of God’s invisible grace. Our marriages are to reflect our relationship with Christ. And I am convinced that they do. Whether we like it or not, our relationships with each other mirror our relationship with God. Let me ask you, does God rejoice over you? If not, could it be because you do not rejoice over your bride? Listen to the text again, “As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.” Could it be that God will rejoice over us as we rejoice over each other? By definition, marriage is a sacrament. We are to be visible forms of God’s invisible grace.
