Title

Choose To Understand

Scripture
It is a people of no understanding; therefore He who made them will not have mercy on them, and He who formed them will show them no favor.
(Isaiah 27:11)
Devotional
There can only be one explanation to this verse of scripture: understanding is a choice we make. No one will ever stand before the throne of God and say, “I didn’t understand!” We may not be able to understand all of God’s ways, but we can understand those ways that have been revealed to us. Understanding therefore is greater than knowledge. It is even greater than wisdom. Knowledge and wisdom can be learned and acquired. Understanding is chosen. I may not comprehend the why of God, but I can understand the direction of God. I may not understand the how, but I can understand what He wants me to do. It’s just a matter of choice. God will never reveal Himself to us without our understanding that it is His will. We may not understand all His ways, but we can choose to understand His direction for our lives.
