Scripture
For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.(Isaiah 9:6)
Devotional
Without question, Isaiah is speaking of Christ. Just think, the Creator of the universe came to this world in the weakest form possible, an infant, born of a virgin in the humblest manner. The very Son of God came willfully to establish the government of God here on earth. He not only established it; He is the head and sustainer of it. Isaiah said that His name would be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of peace. All theses titles are summed up in one name, that name is Jesus. He is more than wonderful. He is the purest of counselors and the mightiest of Gods. He is the Father of everlasting and the prince that gives the peace that passes all of our understanding. Listen to me: you can trust Him. He is more than worthy of all your faith. He is the Lord God almighty. His name is Jesus.Daily Reading
