The Lord’s Well Being

Scripture
Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well being.
(1 Corinthians 10:24)
Devotional
From the dinner table to the business table we are best served by first seeking the well being of others. The scriptures are clear, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” There are two pendulum swings of people in the world, givers and takers. And you do not have to look very far to find which swing of the pendulum will prosper. Those who genuinely seek the well being of others are loved, happy and successful. Those who are always on the taking end are inevitably unloved, unhappy and failures. The choice is not very difficult. This commandment like all of the Lord’s ways is to our benefit and for our well being.

On August 28th, David said:
So often I find myself in the camp of takers, yet desire so much to be in the other. Maybe I need to read this everyday. Great reminder of something I wish came a little more natural at times.
