Title

The Strength of Multiplied Unity

Scripture
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
(Ecclesiastes 4:12)
Devotional
As we grow in numbers we likewise grow exponentially. That is, our numbers multiply our strength instead of simply adding to it. Therefore there is great power in unity. The book of Leviticus says, “Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight.” There is strength in teamwork and power in harmony. When you have an assembly of people on the same page, going in the same direction you have a mighty force. The momentum created in unity cannot easily be stopped. Unity, even if meant for evil, cannot readily be defeated. Consider the building of the ancient tower of Babel, the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.” You may not be able to stand-alone. Two have increased ability. Three or more are not quickly broken.
