Rightly Judge

Scripture
He who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.
(1 Corinthians 2:15)
Devotional
There is no clearer verse of scripture with regard to judging. We are told what to judge and what not tot judge. We are to judge things. That is we are to judge sin as sin. We are to judge the things people do. If someone steals, we are to judge the stealing. If someone lies we are to judge the lying and if someone cheat we judge the cheating. They key however is that we are not to judge the intent of the heart of those committing the sins. Our text says that we are “Rightly judged by no one.” If no one can judge us rightly, we likewise cannot judge anyone rightly. We are to judge things, but we are not to judge people. There must be a separation. I have found at least one sure reason we are not to judge others: there will always be at least one thing that we do not know or understand about any given situation. Therefore we can rightly judge no one. Judge the sin, reveal it, but do not judge the person.
