Title

Double Debt

Scripture
Owe no man anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
(Romans 13:8)
Devotional
There is a twofold debt to be avoided. The first is obvious. We are not to be financially or physically indebted to another. Understand that debt is not having the ability to repay. If we meet the obligation of an agreement, we are not in debt. The second form of debt is to understand that we are not to be indebted against our will. That is bondage. We re not to subject ourselves to another in an inordinate manner. No man is to rule over you contrary to the rule and will of God. This is owing a debt that cannot be paid. Instead of owing a man what cannot be paid, love them. If I love you I will not be in debt to you. If I love you I will not have an inordinate relationship with you. If I love you our relationship will always be honorable, above board and debt free. Therefore be slow to barrow and slower to lend, but be quick to give and ready to receive.
