Title

Born of Woman or Born of Christ?

Scripture
Man who is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble.
(Job 14:1)
Devotional
Job was responding from his condition. He was correct in that this life is but a vapor and that in this life we will have trouble. It is for this reason that Jesus came to redeem fallen man. Jesus Himself said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Life in this realm is short, but through Christ we have the hope of eternal life. Life is likewise full of trouble, but Jesus again said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Without Christ, Job is right; we are sentenced to a life short life filled with trouble. With Him we are more than conquerors. Tribulations may come, but they cannot have dominion over us. Man who is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble, but man born of Christ is of eternal days and joy unspeakable and full of glory.
