Title

The Power of a Testimony

Scripture
“Brethren and fathers, hear my defense before you now.”
(Acts 22:1)
Devotional
In the Greek, the word defense has the same meaning as the word apology. However, an apology is more than a defense of our beliefs; it is the sound reasoning and proof of our beliefs. In essence, it is our testimony. ?Testimonies have to either be accepted or rejected on their own merit. The source of their power is their ability to stand alone. ?The apostle Paul knew the power of his testimony. He knew that religion and doctrine could be argued, but that no one could argue against his testimony. ?Apologetics gives the reasons why we believe what we do; our testimony is the proof of those reasons. It is one thing to say what we believe; it is quite a more powerful thing to live what we believe. ?As it says in I Peter, “Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.” ?Then and only then will we see the power of our testimony.
