Title

The Self-seeking Man

Scripture
A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment.
(Proverbs 18:1)
Devotional
God has said from the beginning, “It is not good that a man should be alone.” A man who calls himself a loner is a self-seeking man. Likewise a man who says that he does not love people seeks his own desire. It is through selfishness that we forsake others. It is because of our own sinful nature that we rage against God’s creation and continually find fault with and in others. It may not be easy to be around people, but it is wise to make and find friends. The poor in judgment choose to be continually alone. The selfish man’s comfort zone is a lonely place indeed. The longer he dwells there the lonelier he will become. If you find yourself constantly drawing away from others, purposefully change directions. Why should your world grow smaller? Learn to love those whom God loves. Learn to show yourself friendly. Instead of seeking your own desire, seek God’s.
