Title

God’s Powerhouses

Scripture
When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you.
(Proverbs 2:10-11)
Devotional
Again and again throughout the proverbs we find these three powerhouses of God: wisdom, knowledge and understanding. With them, nothing is impossible. They prosper and protect, bring joy and happiness. In them peace is found. They need no material prosperity for they bring their own riches. With them, businesses succeed and enterprises flourish; nations prosper and governments rule with righteousness. When rightly valued in your family, your children’s children will bring you honor and preserve your good name. The wife of your youth will blossom throughout the years of your marriage and your husband will be known in the gates. Through them churches grow and Christ is glorified, souls are saved and believers mature. Therefore, let us focus on them and ask: Has wisdom entered my heart? Do I find knowledge pleasant? Am I kept (secure) in my understanding?

Thought For The Day
“Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are camping. They pitch their tent under the stars and go to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night, Holmes wakes Watson. ‘Watson, look up at the stars and tell me what you deduce.’ Watson says, ‘I see millions of stars, and if even a few of those have planets, it's quite likely there are some planets like Earth, and if there are a few planets like Earth out there, there might also be life.’ Holmes replies, ‘Watson, you idiot, somebody stole our tent!’”[1]
