Title

The Power of Stillness

Scripture
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exulted among the nations, I will be exulted in the earth!
(Psalm 46:10)
Devotional
To be still is not to be lazy nor apathetic toward the things of God or the things of everyday life. To be still is to trust patiently. To be still is not to fret nor worry about things which you have no control. To be still is to walk by faith; not just any faith, but faith in the Lord your God. To be still is to say like Job, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” When we learn this stillness, God is exulted in our lives. When people see your steadfastness and your unwavering faith, He will likewise be exalted among them. When the world sees the stillness of the church in times of crises and distress, again, God will be exulted in the earth. We are to learn this stillness, this calm in the midst of life’s storms. Whenever we can be still and know that He is God, not only will He be exulted, but so will we.
