Eleazar was the son of Aaron, Joshua the disciple of Moses and the heads of the tribes the sons of the fathers of Israel. These were the successors of Israel’s leadership. They were trained and mentored by their overseers. Aaron trained his sons to follow in his footsteps as the priests of God’s people. Moses instructed and mentored Joshua as the leader and warrior of the nation. Each of the patriarchs of Israel did likewise with their sons. Nepotism is an ordained quality among God’s people. What greater education and training could a son or daughter receive other than from the hand of their parents? It is the wise parent that teaches their children their trade. It does not matter whether or not the child take up that trade
