Title

Closing the Great Divide

Scripture
He knowing their thoughts, said to them: Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.
(Luke 11:17)
Devotional
Two checking accounts, two lifestyles, two sets of friends equates to a house divided. We live in a his and her society. Marriage has become more of an arrangement than the unity that God intended it to be. God says that the two are to be one. Listen to Ephesians chapter 5:31, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” We cannot live two separate lives and expect to be one in unity and spirit. You cannot send your wife out to be placed under the authority of another man and expect her to be subject to both you and him. I believe that we are much better off with a subordinate lifestyle than a lifestyle based on separation and disunity. Honestly ask yourself, “Is my kingdom divided?” Is it on its way to desolation?” Come together, in love, seeking the Lord’s will for your marriage, and close the divide.
