Title

Righteousness Guards and Wickedness Overthrows

Scripture
Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
(Proverbs 13:6)
Devotional
A very simple statement, “Righteousness guards and wickedness overthrows.” That is pretty clear. Everyone desires security, whether in finances, or protection from trespasses. If our ways are blameless before the Lord, He will by all means guard us. Now, to be blameless simply requires obedience. If we do the things God instructs us to do, we will be blameless. Like the proverb of our text, it is pretty clear. On the other hand if we choose wickedness, we will be overthrown. To be wicked simply requires disobedience. If we choose not to do the things God instructs us to do, we are deemed wicked. Therefore, simply do the things that you know are right to do, this is the beginning of righteousness. When we walk in obedience with what we know to do, God will continue to instruct us with the things that will lead to security and success. Remember righteousness guards and wickedness overthrows.
