Title

Be Not Ashamed

Scripture
Whoever is ashamed of Me and My words… of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed…
(Mark 8:38)
Devotional
Tolerance and political correctness say that we are not to offend anyone with our beliefs unless those beliefs have nothing to do with God and His Word. Spiritual and Scriptural correctness says that we are not to offend the Father and His holy angels with our beliefs and that any belief that is contrary to the Word of God is offensive to heaven. Which would you prefer: to stand before man ashamed or to stand before God ashamed? A fool would say man, and you are no fool. We need a good dose of holy boldness, not arrogance, but humble courage. It is not always easy to profess Christ and His Word. I have found that there are times that people are offended by it, even in church. Nevertheless, we are not to shun our responsibility to proclaim the gospel because it makes people uncomfortable. I would rather them be uncomfortable before man than God. Therefore, do not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation.
