Title

He’s a Firm Foundation

Scripture
The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous will stand.
(Proverbs 12:7)
Devotional
Without exception this Proverb holds true. Every wicked leader, regime or nation has been overthrown and are no more. The same holds true to any individual, family or organization. Wickedness is the beginning of the ruin of lives and the downfall of a people. Some wicked ways may last longer than others, but inevitably they come to a merciless end. Many were established on a righteous foundation, but as Psalm 11:3 says, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”(1) There is only one firm foundation and that is Christ. Anything built and kept on this foundation will last. Anything built on any other foundation or anything removed from the foundation of godliness cannot stand.
There can and is a season of apparent success and prosperity, but it leads to no avail. Whether it is a single life, a family, a business or a church, only what is built on Christ will last.

(1) Psalm 11:3

Thought For The Day
“The foundation of our marriage is our commitment to Christ. People may make fun of us or call us old-fashioned, but we won’t apologize for our beliefs or our lifestyle because we feel like the only person we have to please is God.” Mark Price, former NBA and Georgia Tech star guard.
