Title

Don’t Go There

Scripture
Accordingly to the doings of the land… where you dwelt, you shall not do; and accordingly to the doings of the land… where I am bringing you, you shall not do.
(Leviticus 18:3)
Devotional
Some people attempt to live in the past while others just dream about the future. Memories can serve us well, as long as their purpose is to serve. When we serve our memories, we shall be in bondage to them. The same applies to our dreams of the future. It would be a sad life without goals and dreams. Nevertheless, if all we do is dream, we likewise are in bondage to those dreams. The place from where we dwelt will become sinful if we attempt to remain there. The place where we wish to journey will likewise be sinful if we attempt to go there without Christ. We must repent of the sins of our past and the dreams of the future if they are void of Christ. The sins of our past remain sinful if we look at them through the eyes of nostalgia, and the sins of the future accrue if we look at them through the eyes of fantasy.
