Title

Cause To Rejoice

Scripture
When the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying… Hosanna… they were indignant.
(Matthew 21:15)
Devotional
The nature of sinful man is not to mind success in others as long as that success does not exceed his. Think about your own nature. How do you respond to the success of others, especially if that success surpasses yours? At the very least, it proves to be a motivation to our endeavors. However, more than often, it produces judgmental separation. You simply do not wish to be around that person any longer. Why do you think we respond in such a manner? I believe in a word the answer is “insecurity.” The priests and scribes depended on their position for their security. Positions and the like will eventually prove to be insecure. There is only one source of security, Christ Jesus the Lord. If we seek security in anything other than Christ, we will eventually prove to be very insecure. If our security is in Christ, the success of others will always be cause to rejoice.
