For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Devotional
I love the phrase, “Mercy triumphs over judgment.” When we belong to Christ, we encounter this wonder daily. We deserve the judgment of God, but we experience His mercy. Aren’t you glad that the Lord God is more merciful than you and me? I say this to our shame. We are (forgive me for including you) so judgmental with regard to the actions of others, especially when those actions conflict with our desires. The scripture is clear, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.” Jesus furthermore said that, “With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you...” God has been and is very merciful to us. We are to be just as merciful to others. We show mercy by being kind, considerate, understanding and patient. It is one thing to judge actions; it is quite another to judge people. God is basically saying, “If you judge without mercy, you are asking to be judged in the same manner.”
