Throwing A Spiritual Tantrum

Scripture
Thus says the Lord God, “Pound your fists and stamp your feet, and say ‘Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel!’”
(Ezekiel 6:11)
Devotional
Have you ever witnessed this kind of anger toward sin? It is a true sight to behold. We are to have this kind of anger when we are an abomination toward God. Unfortunately, we usually express this kind of anger when we fail to get our way. It is the anger of a naughty child. We are to hate our sin to the point that when we succumb to it, we pound our fists and stamp our feet in disgust. Oh to have this kind of loathing of sin. Sin is to anger us. We are to see it as disgusting and loathsome. Our hearts are to be broken for the sinner and disgusted with the sin. If there is sin in our lives that causes this kind of anger, then that anger must be followed with the same measure of zeal in repentance. Hate the sin, but not the sinner. Pray that sin becomes that repulsive to you. Pound your fist and stomp your feet until it is driven far from you. Manifest your disgust toward it and your righteousness will manifest itself toward holiness.
