Title

Care For The Novice

Scripture
Not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
(1 Timothy 3:6)
Devotional
I have mistakenly placed a novice into a leadership position. It was a mistake that I hope never to make again. The cost is enormous, especially to the novice. It is far better to leave a position vacant rather than filled with the inappropriate. Be slow to build your team. Avoid the quick fix. Focus on quality rather than quantity. One prepared is better than ten without training. Do not risk the well-being of another to satisfy a temporal need. Removing a novice is much more difficult than enlisting one. Remember, God is never in a hurry and He is never late. His timing is perfect. He will send you the right person at the right time. All we have to do is diligently be looking. We are not to ignore nor neglect the novices; we are to train them. Find someone with potential and prepare them for the need.
