Title

The Degradation Of Sin

Scripture
And they built the high places of Baal…to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire… which I did not command them, nor did it come into my mind…
(Jeremiah 32:35)
Devotional
Sin will take you further than you want to go, cost you more than you are willing to pay and keep you longer than you wish to stay. We are not to even flirt with sin. It is too deadly. Sin is regressive. There is no plateauing in it. We are either being freed from its grasp or pulled down by its talons. Do not think that you can wink at immorality without falling into it. Do not toy with fleshly lusts and expect the urge to diminish. It is for this reason that the Lord taught us to pray, “Do not lead us into temptation.” Unchecked sin will eventually lead to that which never entered into the mind of the Lord. Therefore, flee from the lure of sin. Do as James instructs, “Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Mark the sin in your life. Deal with it immediately by confessing it to God. Avoid compromising situations. Turn before it is too late. Turn now.
