Prayer Partners

Scripture
Brethren, pray for us.
(1 Thessalonians 5:25)
Devotional
“Brethren, pray for us.”  Four modest words in one verse of scripture, yet four words filled with power. Allow me to ask: for whom are you praying? Do you faithfully pray for your spouse, family and self? Do you pray for your church, pastor and ministry? Are you praying for the success of your business and the businesses of others? I trust that you are. Allow me to furthermore ask: who is praying for you? Do you know? Have you asked anyone to pray for you on a daily basis? Do you have a prayer partner? If not, find one. Find somebody that you can trust, not only to keep a confidence, but somebody who will faithfully pray for you and you for them. You and your prayer partner will need to be both responsible and accountable. You must have both. There is no responsibility without accountability. Furthermore, understand that prayer does not change things. Believing prayer changes things. Therefore find and be one who practices what James calls, “The prayer of faith.”
