Title

For His Name’s Sake

Scripture
But You, O God the Lord, deal with me for Your name’s sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me.
(Psalm 109:21)
Devotional
When we ask God to meet our needs, we usually ask for our own sake. We ask for things that will make our lives easier or more pleasant. We more than often fail to give the Lord much concern with regard to what glorifies Him instead of what glorifies ourselves. Isaiah says, “I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another...” God certainly loves His people. Nevertheless, all glory belongs to Him. Therefore, when we seek for Him to deal with us for His name’s sake, He will. God is merciful toward His children. He desires to deliver us from anything that would hinder our ability to serve Him and glorify His name. Therefore, seek out the things of God. Ask for those things that would bring Him glory, and watch Him move in your life like He has never moved before.
