Do Not Be Ignorant

Scripture
Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
(2 Corinthians 2:11)
Devotional
Sin is Satan’s doorway to destroy your life. The Corinthian Church was very aware of his ways. They understood, for example, that unforgiveness between two believers would lead to various sins: bitterness, animosity, hatred, and even murder. Satan’s goal is to take advantage of us. He desires to destroy our testimonies, marriages, finances, ministries or anything else we allow him. We must not be ignorant of his devices. He is not to be toyed with. You and I cannot compete with him in our flesh. He will always outsmart us, outwork us and outlast us. However, he can never outsmart the mind of Christ, nor outwork the Holy Spirit nor outlast the everlasting Father. Make no room for him and his cohorts. Do not even flirt with sin. Avoid it at all cost; for you cannot afford it at all. There is no need for paranoia, but there is great need, as James instructs, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
