Title

We Will Seldom Stand Alone

Scripture
But he disdained to lay hands of Mordecai alone...Instead, Haman sought to destroy all...the people of Mordecai.
(Esther 3:6)
Devotional
It is one thing to stand for what you believe. It is quite another for your actions to cause others to have to stand with you. Mordecai, in his integrity, would not pay homage to the arrogance of Haman. Therefore, he despised Mordecai. Haman sought to get revenge against Mordecai by having all the Jews in the kingdom destroyed. Thus Mordecai’s actions brought evil against his people. Again, many people are willing to stand for what they believe. How many of us are willing to stand when our stand jeopardizes others? We will seldom have to stand alone. Every stand we take involves others: our families, our friends, our businesses, and our church. Therefore, whenever you make a stand and for whatever reason you do so, make sure that it is worth placing those dear to you at risk. Consequently, the only things deserving of such a stand are those things deemed worthy by God. Remember, you will seldom have the privilege of standing alone. Make sure your stand is of the Lord.
