Title

A Wise Father To A Wise Son

Scripture
As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts.
(1 Chronicles 28:9a)
Devotional
Maybe your father was not as wise as king David, nor you as wise as Solomon. Nevertheless, we have the words of David and Solomon. We can learn from them the ways of a wise father and the heart of a wise son. Here are a few to heed. Serve the Lord with your life. Whatever you do, do it as unto the Lord. You do not have to be called pastor or missionary to serve the Lord. You can and should serve Him in whatever capacity you are. Do so willingly and with loyalty. This we do by doing our occupation with the same attitude. Simply be real at life. Do not try to hoodwink people. Do what you do from the heart. Be genuine. God demands that His people be real. Others may look at your actions, but God is searching your heart and He understands your motives. Therefore, as for you, know the God of your father; if not yours, then Solomon’s.
