Devotional
Notice the sequence of events in this one power packed verse of scripture. The priority was given to prayer. They contacted heaven. Then, heaven contacted them. The place was shaken. It was evident that the Lord was there. He let His presence be known. The fruit of their prayer and God’s presence was boldness. The church was courageous with regard to the things of God. We are to understand that their boldness was perilous. They did not have to deal with mere rejection or ridicule. They had to face possible imprisonment or even death. What caused such boldness? The answer again is in the text. They sought the Lord. The Lord got a hold of them. Therefore, fear was gone and boldness was present. What hinders your boldness? What keeps you from doing what you desire to do? Try getting a hold a heaven, and then allow heaven to get a hold of you. You will be amazed with the results.
