Late May Be Too Late

Scripture
O God, You are my God; early will I seek You…
(Psalm 63:1)
Devotional
“Better late than never” is a clever clichĂ©. The only problem with it is that we do not know when late may be too late. Therefore, it is far better to be early. The best days are days that have their beginning early in the morning. The best time to attend a meeting is early. I personally hate it when people are purposefully late so that they can make an impressionable entrance. Their entrance does impress me, but it is not a good impression. I have found that people who are habitually late, are likewise habitually lazy. My personal motto is that if you are on time, you are too late. It is far better to wait on others than to have others wait on you. The same applies to coming to Christ for salvation. It is far better to come to Christ early in life than later. Again, you do not know when later may be too late. Statistics have shown that the longer you wait to come to Christ the less likely you are to come to Him at all. Therefore, it is the wise who say, “Early will I seek You.”
