Title

Climbed Any Trees Lately?

Scripture
And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to your house, because he also is a son of Abraham.”
(Luke 19:9)
Devotional
Zacchaeus was a despised tax collector. He was a rich man with a bad job who held on to his integrity. When he heard that Christ was coming, he humbled himself and climbed a sycamore tree just to see Jesus. Zacchaeus exercised his faith and his faith brought Christ to his house. When Jesus perceived the complaints about going to the house of a sinner, He referred to Zacchaeus as a “son of Abraham.” Did He mean that because he was a Jew that he was saved? The answer is an obvious no. Jesus was referring to his faith. Zacchaeus had the same faith as Abraham. The scriptures repeatedly sate, “Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness.” The same applied to Zacchaeus and the same applies to you and me. We are to have the faith of Abraham. We are to believe, trust and obey the Lord God. Let me ask. have you climbed any sycamore trees lately?
