Holding On To Your Dreams
Scripture
…Here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me… Now therefore, give me this mountain…(Joshua 14:10-12)
Devotional
Only two men were able to cross the Jordan and posses the promised land, Joshua and Caleb. Obedience has its rewards. Godly men of valor seem to have a lasting youthful vigor. Caleb at eighty-five had the same strength as when he was forty. His heart was likewise as strong as his vitality. He held on to the promises of God without wavering. God had promised him a mountain, and in his old age he to announced his claim. Caleb never gave up on his dream. He never stopped believing God for the land He had promised him. He said, “The Lord has kept me alive” for this reason. Even though the enemy was great and fortified, he knew that his God was able to deliver the land to him. Can you see these tow old men, Joshua and Caleb, holding on to their dreams? Can you see them making their plan? Can you hear Caleb saying, “Now therefore, give me this mountain”?Daily Reading
