Title

When Poverty Comes

Scripture
This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his trouble.
(Psalm 34:6)
Devotional
I have know a moderate amount of poverty in my life. Yet I have never been homeless, nor have I ever gone without food. The greatest poverty that I have known is spiritual poverty. There are times that I feel like a spiritual pauper. I find myself troubled without cause. My mind is filled with anxiety and fear. At times I find that I doubt my beliefs and believe my doubts. Life at best seems to be so fragile and I am so fickle. In my impoverished condition there always remains a ray of light, my Lord Christ Jesus. He is never leaves us. He never forsakes us. He is simply there. All we have to do is call on His Name. He challenges us to obey Him. When we do we can watch the windows of heaven open wide and pour out blessing that are at times more than we can handle. Therefore, when you find yourself poor, cry out to the Lord. The Lord will hear you and save you out of all your troubles.
