Title

Being A wealthy Disciple

Scripture
…there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.
(Matthew 27:57)
Devotional
Wealth has more than its privileges. People of wealth are likewise people of influence. It is just a fact about life. The wealthy are sought out for counsel, positions and honors. They have accessibility to authorities and leaders. Their opinions are weighty. I am sure that it was Joseph’s wealth that got him before governor Pilate. It was also Joseph’s financial ability that made it humanly possible for the body of Jesus to be placed in a tomb. Therefore, there is a benefit to wealth. It is not to be despised. The book of Proverbs says, “Wealth makes many friends…” and “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich…” If the Lord sees fit to bless you with wealth, use that wealth to His glory. He bestowed it upon you for this reason. If God decides to bless you with wealth, make sure that you also are a disciple of Jesus.
