Devotional
We have no newspaper accounts of Moses. There are no news-reels of his deeds. Yet, he is one of the most famous and influential men in the world. Christians, Jews and Moslems recognize him as a great man of God. Why? Why has this man of ancient history made such an impact on the entire world? The answer is found in this one verse of scripture. Moses did as the Lord commanded. It is just that simple. Moses did not always understand, nor did he always do it perfectly right. Nevertheless, his heart was always toward humble obedience. He knew his limitations, but he also knew that God was limitless. We find in Moses all the characteristics of greatness. From his humility to his leadership, Moses accomplished God’s will for his life. Even in his shortcomings, God blessed him. Therefore with his greatness came a higher accountability. The more he obeyed the less room there was for disobedience. “To whom much is given, much is required.”
