Title

Our Morning Sacrifice

Scripture
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.
(Psalm 143:8)
Devotional
What a wonderful prayer, “Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness.” All of the Lord’s direction comes from His lovingkindness. Even the chastisement of the Lord is due to His lovingkindness. Therefore, we are to seek it as the psalmist, in the morning. It is the wise believer who begins his or her day seeking the will of the Lord. Because we trust in the Lord, we are likewise to say, “Cause me to know the way in which I should walk.” We are to pray, “Lord, I know that You are speaking, help me to hear.” We are to ask for His direction for the day, because He already knows what lies before us. We are to begin each say offering ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which, according to Romans, is our reasonable service. Seek the Lord this way in the morning, and watch the success you will have throughout the day.
