Title

Growing-up At Any Age

Scripture
Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
(2 Timothy 2:22)
Devotional
You cannot flee one lifestyle without having an alternative. Somewhere, sometime, somehow, there has to be a shifting of gears in every life. For some, it is simply getting out of reverse. For others, it is shifting to a higher gear. Still, for some, there may have to be a down-shifitng. To put it another way, there has to be a place and time to grow up. To do so, we must put away our childish toys and games, which are: unrighteousness, doubts, bitterness, fightings, and worldliness. Therefore, we shift from doubt to faith, from bitterness to love, from fighting to peace, and from worldliness to godliness. It has to be a deliberate, disciplined choice. By the way, age has little to do with it. Youthful lusts are ageless. The only difference between a young youthful lust and an old youthful lust is that the latter is shamefully sad.
